What is the P-Shot®?

The P-Shot®, also known as the Priapus Shot®, is a non-surgical medical procedure designed to address sexual health concerns in men.  This treatment uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) that is injected into the penis. It harnesses the power of these platelet-derived growth factors to stimulate new tissue and blood vessel growth to increase blood flow to the penis. The P-shot® can sometimes be combined with Pulse Wave Therapy to enhance the efficacy of the treatment. It is primarily used to address erectile dysfunction (ED), improve performance, increase sensation, and support overall sexual wellness.

What to Expect During the P-Shot® Treatment

During the P-Shot® procedure, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm. The blood is processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma, which contains growth factors and other beneficial substances. The PRP is then injected into specific areas of the penis, aiming to stimulate tissue regeneration, improve blood flow, and enhance sensitivity.

The P-Shot® procedure takes about 60 minutes to complete. There is no downtime, though patients should wait about 48 hours to resume sexual activity.  

When Will You Notice the Results?

While some patients may experience immediate results following their P-Shot®, many require about 3-4 weeks to notice significant changes. This is because the body uses PRP as a springboard for tissue regeneration, which can take longer for some than others. Many men can benefit from multiple treatment sessions to further encourage tissue regeneration in the body.

Results from the P-Shot® can often last up to 2 years.

What are the side effects of the P-Shot?

You may have some mild soreness at the injection sites, as well as bruising. This can be avoided by taking Tylenol rather than blood-thinning medications (such as ibuprofen or aspirin) before and after your procedure.

How do you prepare for a P-Shot?

No preparation is needed for the P-Shot, although you may wish to avoid blood-thinning medications such as ibuprofen or aspirin for one week before your procedure. This can help reduce the chances of bruising.

Does the P-Shot increase size?

It’s possible to experience an increase in size as the body generates healthy new tissues, or as a product of better blood flow during an erection. However, the goal of the P-Shot is not to increase size but rather to enhance the sexual function, stamina, and sensitivity of the penis. Everyone responds differently to the P-Shot, and any increase in size may be purely anecdotal.

What does the P-Shot feel like?

The P-Shot may feel like a small pinch or pressure during the injection, but it’s very quick. Most men are able to tolerate it very well.

Is the P-Shot painful?

The P-Shot is not painful thanks to a topical anesthetic applied before your injection. You may still feel some pressure, but otherwise, it should not hurt.

How many sessions are required for the P-Shot?

This depends on your goals – for some men, a single session produces results. For others, a package of ongoing sessions (2-3) helps them better meet their goals.
